Description

The Computational Neuroscience Team at the CRM is looking for a postdoctorate researcher to join the project Computational mechanisms of perceptual inference. This contract is envisaged to start on July 1st, 2022, and will last until the end of the project.

TASKS 

  • Development of behavioural experiments of bistable perception
  • Collecting behavioral data and eye-tracking data
  • Analysis of behavioral and eye-tracking data
  • Development and simulations of probabilistic models of perception
  • Applying model fitting and model comparison techniques to behavioral data
  • Writing scientific publications

 
REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate has:

  • a PhD in computational neuroscience
  • a strong expertise in psychophysics, statistics, machine learning and network simulations
  • a solid background in the neuroscience of perception and decision-making
  • fluent English

 
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS

  • High programming skills (Python or Matlab)
  • Clarity of exposition of scientific results
  • Motivation for research in neural computations of perception

 
CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Expected starting date: July 1, 2021
  • Duration of the contract:  until the end of the project
  • Salary as established by collective agreement

 
EVALUATION PROCESS AND CRITERIA

The selection process will be evaluated by the CRM director, Dr.  Alexandre Hyafil, as principal investigator of the Computational Neuroscience Team and leading investigator in the project Computational Mechanisms of Perceptual Inference. This process consists in:

  1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter​ by email at  crm@crm.cat​, as well as address scientific enquiries to ahyafil@crm.cat, until April 15, 2022 indicating the reference code of the offer. The requests referred from another portal, other than the CRM job offers section and the instructions contained therein, will not be accepted.
  2. Shortlist: assessment of the fulfilment of the minimum requirements of the offer.
  3. Selection: evaluation of the shortlisted candidates by a total score according to objective criteria.
  4. Final decision: If we find the right person, the resolution will be formally communicated and will be published in the CRM careers section.
